Flat Plans

for my magazine the title name is 'CHUNES' I chose this becasue it's catchy it is a play on words with (tunes). I also have decieded that I will choose a really bold font and taht each letter will have have its idervidual colour. to feature on my cover I have chosen beyonce I chose her because she has a massive appeal to the public plus she is very popular in the pop idustry. for afvertisment and to drag the readers in i decieded to give away free poster of a new band i will create called 'Ta-dah'. also I will grab the appeal buy giving a winner of the compotiton inside a brand new mp3 player. for the colours I will stick to black and white for the time being and then play around and putting pinks green and yellow into the background.



for my contents I will stick the the bright colours and the big bold font to stand out this is so the target audience will be attracted to the magazine and will want to read more. I will also give them a reminder of the free posters that u get when buying the magazine purely for advertsiment and apeal. topics i will feature in my magazine are

• talent show
• news/gossip
• compotiton time

for my first page its going to have mini photes of the beyonce tour i went to go and see. the title will say 'it's beyonce' and there will be a music note next to the title to make it look pop like. also on the page it will feature an exlusive interview about her tour and upcoming events (albums,gigs,partys etc.)

the backgroun will be very brightly coloured but i will be experimenting more with black and green as they contrast together . also I think the colours need to be less appealing as im now going into the main features of the magazine.

for the second part of my magazine I will advertise the new pop band that is out called 'TA-Dah' this will be a slighty outrageous page with lots of stars sweet rappers etc to give away the genre of pop. it will also advertise the new bands single called 'Fast Love' I chose the name it catchy and it sounds like one of them annoying songs you just get stuck in your head all day. the page will also feature ceveral images of the band and indervidual pictures of them will a little bit of info about each band member, this is purley for the appeal of the band. Im still deciding on weather to have a small space for questions people have ask about the band this will only happen if the page has ebough room on it.

as I couldnt find a dance magazine survey I chose to look at the top of the pops sales figures.

using www.nrs.com I reserched who and what kind of people read top of the pops magazine from this I have a better understanding of who I should base my dance magzine. I found out that 13900 people aged between 15-44 buy this magazine whithin that I should probaerly base my magazine around this age. also 122000 women buy the magazine over the 44000 men so I will be targerting the women more rather than the men in my magzine but I will include stuff for the male gender. 107000 of these people are class ranged between C-D so people earning less money and a lower income than the 62000 B-A class people.
I will make my magazine appeal to the younger teenage genertion as I will get more readers and if we was going to look at sales figures I would get a bigger profit

this is the first dance magazine I will look at. I like the fact the title is really big and bold it stands out and you know exactly what you are reading. I really like the layout of the page it's simplicity stands out and makes it unique. the use of colours is really affective they have selected a few and stuck with it throughout. the picture on the front identifys what this magazine main feature is and people will pick it up if they reconise them. I really like how they have listed the other headings it makes the magazine less complecated. this magazine is particually aimed at boys as they have the semi-naked women on the front, its also aimed at the people who enjoy lots of partying and heavy drinking, and like it says people who like Ibiza. I really think this magazine is deffinatly a seasonal thing as it wouldnt really appeal to people in the winter as it's cold.

this is the second magazine cover I will look at this is my favourite of the two i love the used of the colours and all the funky shapes used. the sub headings really stand out from the main title 'DJ'. The layout on this page is alot to take in and i think thats why I like it shows the magazine has a lot to feature and possilby lots of readers. the image used shows alot in the music intself that it is noisy and really fun to listen to. another thing about this I like is by spreading out the sub heading it draws you around the whole page, most people when reading magazines will only read the bits you are interested in. This front cover also is advertising in a way by featuring some of the band names on the front 'Pryda, Leger and Axer'. I feel this front cover is really inviting and makes you want to open to magazine and read more.








this is the contents page I will write about, the first thing you notice that i really like is the smiley faces this shows character to the magazine and fun. the layout is really simple and is sectioned into blocks so you can skip to the pages you really want to read. I like how basic they have kept the colours to much will make it out of control and you wouldnt know where to look. I think they have used far to much text on the contents, the contents is the page where you want to read less and know the basic information about the articles. they have chosen pictures that will appeal to the audience and also gives a brief understanding of what the articles are going to be about. I really get the impression they have tried to invite you in and be friedly but because there is so much to read about I think it slightly puts you off.





I wasn't to sure if this was taken from a dance magazine but as I couldn't find anything I thought i would write about this instead. I really like how they have really got personal with the band and they have made it really friendly and tried to invite you in to getting to know the band

for my main task I will design and produce a media magazine. I have chosen to do a dance magazine as I thought i'd take an interest into the music and experiment with the colours and themes. this is my contents page for my performing arts magazine i chose to use the stars to give it that magical stage look. i made the contents title really big and bold so it stands out just like actors on stage. i used the happy and sad mask to also prove it was performing arts magazine.















this is my magazine cover i chose to make the sub headings all over the place and used different fonts due to make it look creative and stand out. i used the big font again to make it look eye catching and performing arts looking. i decided for my final piece i would only have one huge photo as it would look more appealing and eye grabbing.

this is my magazine cover for my performing arts magazine. i used the use of the purple jumper to jazz it up make it look interesting. i used the the graffiti font to make it look street and attracted to the younger generation.
i used the star font to give it a stage name effect so it looks like its from west end. i used the star as it pop out the cover and there is a saying in acting 'star of the show'.







this is my contents pages i used the same star font to give it the jazzy pazam effect, it gives it sparkle and shows its a performing arts magazine. i also stuck with the street graffiti font so that the teenagers will get attracted to it. the picture i used was taken on my camera of my performing arts class mucking around in class its fun a draws the readers in.

Introduction

for my first main task i have been asked to complete a flat plan for a college magazine.I have started by making a performing arts magazine and using pictures and related text to the stuff we are doing in performing arts at the moment during lessons.


This is the image i will be using for my front cover as its a clear shot and you can see clearly the face and neck, it also is a fun smiley photo for a performing arts magazine.










this photo however is blurry and the eyes are slightly closed this looks more like a passport picture rather than a magazine photo.
